Well, I finally broke in the new Eiger,Well almost broke it in, got 87 miles on it, So far so Good.went thru water, mud, climbed hills, went fast, went slow,pulled out another quad and done all the fun stuff in high & low gear,4x4 and 2 wheel drive without a problem...It's making a believer out of me...Just 1 little thing bothers me,,,The rear end,,,It makes a whinning noise... usually when desending hills or giving it gas,,,anyone else have a Eiger that makes this same noise ?

Ours is an auto and doesn't have much whine at all. My neighbor has a manual and I can hear his whining long before I can hear the engine noise. Me thinks the whine is probably tranny noise.

I am pretty much sure it is the rearend.when I'm in neutral,I can hear it when i'm going down hill...But it doesnt bother the performance at all.
When I go next week for it's first check up, I'll ask..if this is what they do well No problem,I can live with that.....

Mine has a whine too. I think it is normal. Really notice it when someone else rides it. Got 500mi on it and all ok.

i feel a little better now knowing that my Eiger isn't the only one making that noise, i imagine eventually that noise will quiet a bit after it gets broke in..
