I am in the process of installing a new clutch. I am using a Barnett clutch kit. I have installed the new clutch and have the side cover back on. The problem is that while I had the clutch and cover off my brother was messing with the shifter and he put it in 1st then 2nd and it would not move anymore. I decided to put the clutch in and see if I could get the shifter to move. Right now it is in 1st and will not move. I can't imagine what the problem would be. I have not started the motor up due to a blown base gasket. Also the clutch doesn't seem to be engaging all the way. Any tips or ideas of what could be wrong. Thanks for any help

Try turning the front sproket a little and shifting at the same time.
It's just an Idea you never know. Good luck!!!

Also Add more tension to your Clutch cable.

If you look at the shaft(under the cover) there are teeth on one side. Maybe the shifter was pushed over and they are not lined up right? If you installed the cover and it went on without force. This probly isnt your problem. I cant think of any thing else?
