92 lt 250 clamp on filter
#4
You can if you want, obviously with the airbox removed you are limited to how deep you can go. If you use your LT250R as a water crossing, mud machine you are better to leave your airbox on but if you race or play where it is generally not deep water or deep mud then you can ditch the whole airbox with out a problem. Keep the air cleaner clean and the outer wears clean and everything will be fine.

you obviously dont know anthting about the intake systme on a 1992!! quadracer theres about 3 inches after the end of the carb before you hit the rear shock so what suzuki did is made an air duct to go around the shock and into an airbox that is located twared the rear of the quad the reason i asked if a rm air boot might work is because the have a angle to them that goes to the side

oh by the way do you need some front douglas wheels and holeshot mx tires? i have some in new condition if you are interested.

The lt's , especially the 91 -92, suffer from inadequate airfilter area once modified, i.e. the filter size chokes the engine.
Remove the airbox and investigate the mounting for the air intake boot, half the opening is blanked closed ? open it up with hot wire knife or similar to the full size of the rubber air boot.
Two throw a way the air box lid if not already done so and the dippy air inlet tube thingy............
the stock mounting lip is not large enough (to narrow) for a clamp on. Get a metal fab shop to make you a stainless tube to pop rivet/ silicone into the stock lip so you have about 1 1/2 inches length.
Hunt out either a k&N or long tube type uni to go in, you can squeeze in a filter with nearly twice tha area of a stocker but it will be tight through the top opening, consider cutting the top of the airbox out larger to.
With a bit of care and carefull knife work you'll get a huge intake improvement.
