Default who has switched from a 400EX to a Z400?

Well I still have both but I switched from a 250x to a 300ex to a Sportman500 to a Scrambler 500 to a 400ex and Z400. I ride the Z only now and the ex is for back up when the z is getting work done. I like the z alot more. I think the z is alot more peppy off the line and very fast reving. It is almost like the snappyness of a 2 stroke in the upper rpms. I run the woods reving hard and it zips. It jumps much, much better than the ex also, it kinda floats there and is very predictable. It is faster than ex, it handles about the same, but it has reverse and is liquid cooled all for about the same price. I love both atvs but prefer the Z.

I had a 400ex as well and I have to say that I really liked it. At the time, it felt better to me than any other quad , a lot better than the Raptor did. Now, the Z400 feels even better mainly due to the motor. It likes to rev which makes it more fun for me. The handling feels just as solid as the 400ex did.

I am getting one of the two. I ride almost 100% woods and strip mine pits. Does the Z do as well on off cambers and rough rutted out hills w/ stumps, roots etc. I like it a lot but it looks taller so i'm afraid it might be "tippier"?

It is definitely not tippy. I have taken mine in quite a variety of terrain and have never felt unstable. You do have a lot less ground clearence than your foreman so, keep that in mind.

I had a 2001 400EX with an R4 and other mods. It was nice. Much better than a Warrior or Mojave. But the Z is better yet. Handles better, quicker, more power, lighter, REVERSE. Excellent quad. I laugh when I see guys post about EX's beating Z's. Lies, lies, lies...

We switched alright, From a 400ex to Cannondale. Both the Honda and the Suzuki are great play bikes. We chose the Cannondale because of the agressive nature. Not trying to Knock any of them, there all fun, just suited for different wants. You can't beat Honda's dependability, but the Suzuki has more to offer potential wise.

Have fun on whatever you like!!
