If you take the lid of the box the engine has all the air it needs. Why are some people removing the cap off the snorkel or the whole snorkel when they have the lid off?

i only removed both because, frankly, when the damm lid is off you dont need a snorkel, i had noticed b4 when i got back from glamis with lid ,snorkel, and drain plug in, that the box filled 1/2 way up with sand, since then i've put an alba adapter and K+N filter on, left the lid, snorkel and drain off, not a drop of sand floating around in there....i will melt outerwear material over the snorkel cover, and a velcro style outerwear airbox cover, to redirect the sand and small drops of water...

surfer-See www.ehsracing.com for some nice Outerwears airbox covers. I have never liked those velcro things.
