Default Restore ZILLA?????

Dinksdairy,
The vibration is probly coming from not lining the timing marks up on the crank and counter balancer. If you havent already fixed it.

Dinksdairy, You sound just like someone who ive been talking with the past week or so about an 87 frame. Sounds like you got a damn good deal on that quad too. Hope you get the vibration to stop. Send me a pic when you get it done and ill do the same. Zig

Default Restore ZILLA?????

Zilla Daddy, I am gonna keep my 87 cylinder. I plan on gettin it resleeved so that I can get a stage 2 done so its a lil more mild. As far as 250 parts, I have the suspension linkage, radiator, and axle.

Jason454, i have already done the lining up of the dots on the balancer, didn't fix it so I sent the crank off to trinity and had it rebuilt and new crank bearings. Now i waiting on cometic to send me the right size gaskets so I can get it back together and see if she still vibrates.

Zigzilla, I am the guy u been talking too, lol. But once its back together u'll get some pics.

Also, does anyone know how much a sleeve runs for a zilla and how much it should cost to have the old one pressed out and the new one pressed in?

I'm thinkin' $199-ish for some reason but I'm not quite sure. The stock sleeve can be bored up to either .120 or .140, I can't remember which. Heat your cylinder with a torch or something then tap the sleeve from the bottom and it should slide right out thru the top of the cylinder. Then do the same thing to put the new one in, just make sure the ports are lined up......

Dinksdairy,
Did you line up all three dots? There is one on the crankshaft, and one on each of the two gears. Most people dont see the one on the crank(it is in one of the splines).
All three need to be pointing towards each other.
The stock jug can be bored to .140. They do loose some reliability tho(that big).

Default Restore ZILLA?????

I have done all three dots, that was the main reason I bought it. I figured the guy who assembled it messed up. But that wasn't it, so I cracked it and found that a part of the cage holding the ball bearings was broken off. So I hoping that was what had caused the vibration. So I am slowly reassembling the motor and hoping, fingers crossed, that its not gonna vibrate.
