if it is just for the strip- 615 big bore 41mm alky carb. trinity drag porting, ftz drag pipe- tudors head, drag frame, override tranny, reeds of your choice, open air filter, high comp. piston for staters.

Well your not going to be "top dog" with a trinity port job. Or anything from trinity for that fact. Everybody in this thread is talking about how they think they are the fastest, and how they have nothing to back it up. The only PROOF of a zilla ever being fast is one out of oregon that is 539cc's. Bored and stroked on methanol with an override and a drag chassis that has gone a 4.5. You will NEVER run with a drag banshee in the 100 yards. You simply have the wrong bike. When banshee's are running over a half a second faster in the 100 yards you should be able to see that the facts are conclusive.

yup dabeech is right drag banshees get into the real low (4.0) second range. (t-rex and cheetah motors on alky) The next time somebody gets a quadzilla to go that fast PLZ tell me. you can still get the quadzillas down pritty far. Youl spank ALL the 4-bangers!

What is the purpose of stroking the Zilla motor if your end result is only 539cc's? You also say it is bored so that already accounts for some of the additional cc's. Therefore the amount of additional stroke must be tiny. Was this done to accommidate a specific rod and piston combination? Just wonder'n...

Sorry dude. I didn't mean to offend. You apparently knew that guy had "539cc's. Bored and stroked on methanol with an override" so I just assumed you could answer my question. Obviously a person can't just inspect the ouside of an engine and get the info you provided so it seemed like you really knew what was done. And where did I say that a longer stroke will provide more peak power? A longer stroke alone is normally good for lowend/midrange. Since piston speed will increase for any given engine rpm, peak potential rpm will decrease and some peak hp's can be lost. The actual effect on hp will depend on the whole package but what I have done is to generalize what would happen if you where to "undersquare" the zilla motor and kept all other variables constant. Most builders want to oversquare a racing motor because of the possibility of higher rpm's.

i know the theories and logics behind stokes. When you ask a guy "hey, nice running zilla, whats all done to the motor" and he responds by saying "its a 540 bored and stroked with an override". Thats pretty much the end of the conversation for me. I dont care what bore it is, and i dont care what stroke it is and why he went that route. I wasnt offended, or perturbed. Just stating i didnt know why he did what he did.
