Winch relay (solenoid) mounting location - Eiger
#1
Hi,
I've just purchased a '03 Eiger, and I'm installing the winch. I am wondering if anybody has any good suggestions or tips on a good location to mount the relay (solenoid). I was thinking of mounting directly behind the winch (QuadBoss 2000) on the mount plate, however I think that might get wet/muddy and not sure if that's a good idea. So, I'm trying to find a protected area for it. What's a good way to mount directly to the plastic (what type of screw)?
Also, any ideas on mounting the roller fairlead?? I think I'll get it welded directly to the winch mount plate.
Thanks for any help on these topics...

I installed a warn winch on my vinson and the instructions told me to put the sylinoid in the tool box in the rear. I did this and it worked good. I just drilled a hole towards the top for wires to get it.

I have my solenoid mounted directly behind the winch. It is connected behind the winch mount to one of the frame rods. It is in an area that can get plenty of water and mud. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. The winch is a Ramsey ATV3000.

Mine is mounted in the rear left fender well high on the frame. Been in a lot of water and mud with no problem. Those things are permanently sealed so water shouldn't hurt them.
