How fast does your lt250 go?

I’ve seen many threads on lt250 top speed and most said upper 60's but didn’t specify if the bike was before 87 or 87 up.
My question is, is 60mph normal for an 86 because it has only five gears, is my clutch still slipping a little at top end or am I running smaller tires than most.
How fast does yours go? What year/gears/tires? Is it an estimate or verified speed?

well I have a 87 quadracer with fmf fatty full exaust system , k&n filter , high compression cool head , V-FORCE reed cage ,22 inch holeshots, wiseco boost ported piston, bored .080 over, running pump gas with premix I CAN HIT 88 MPH without porting.I was followed by a street bike and he said that i was going 88 mph exactly. oh yeah I forgot to tell you that I have a 15 tooth sprocket on the front....................MAYBE THAT'S WHY?

I don't know that you have to change out the plastic - I have a friend that has a 1985 and he wanted to try out my seat to see if he liked it and he just put it on with his plastic. It fit just fine, but his had Maier plastic on it when he got it so that might make a difference..

I can't say for sure exact top speed of my '92, but I would estimate in the upper 60's easily. It feels as fast if not faster on top end than my Raptor does, but I haven't radared or put it on the GPS to see. Top speed is not really a concern of mine though, I just like it to get there as fast as possible! I do have motor work done to it but I run 18x9.5" turf tamers.

In 1st gear my '89 QR outruns cheetahs. 2nd goes by faster than the human eye can detect. In third, the sonic boom interferes with bowel and bladder control. I've never even used 4th. In 5th, it becomes impossible to breathe, and all the blood in my body is violently pushed to the back of my a$$. When I pop the clutch in 6th, my watch runs backward and the sun quickly sets in the east. Does my jetting sound right?

Dirtgirl,
That’s why I asked about tire size. I’m ok with 60mph. I was more concerned that my clutch was still slipping at top end, but I don’t think it is now. 2 inches smaller tires would make a considerable difference and is likely why mine only goes 60mph. I could compensate with a higher gear also, but I like the way it runs now. Nobody I ride with can touch me until I top out.
Maybe, but the more likely reason would be that my tires are smaller. (I posted that I have 20 inch tires in my very first post)
I checked my plastic. It is molded to fit the 87 seat but it does look like you could jam the seat on 86 plastic.
HUEDOGG,
Whatever chief. I’ve never said anything even remotely unfriendly to anyone on this forum until now. The only reason you have to reply like that is that you’re a keyboard though guy and a punk that came here looking to agitate.
Well if you were to put the stock size tires back on it (22") that would up the gearing some and make it faster
Maybe that one that runs 60 needs the top end redone or his GPS is off or something
I don't know that you have to change out the plastic
HUEDOGG,
UPPER 60'S WTF?QUADRACERS ARE FASTER THAN THAT.SMARTEN UP!

From the” 1987 QUADRACER SIX SPEED RIGHT?” thread.
From this thread
Dang 88mph in 5th gear. Or you could be so stupid you can’t shift gears and count at the same time. Or you could just be full of $hit.
Hmmmmmmmmm, which is more likely?
WELL I HAVE A 1987 QUADRACER THAT HAS 5 SPEEDS AND I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD BE "MISSING" A GEAR BECAUSE I HEARD IN THIS FORUM THAT 87 AND UP ARE 6 SPEED , BUT MINE IS 5 SPEED. PLEASE HELP ME!
