How fast does your lt250 go?

Now they work. I used the copy/paste deal and the http:// deal got on there twice.. I fixed both posts yes I looked at yours and and NO they still don't look alike to me - the frontend is not shaped the same and they are not the same size. You would be more likely to get the LT250 confused with the Quadsport model than you would the Zilla and they look different too. Your pics being dead on from the side don't really show a lot of detail that way, but you do get a good outline of the shape of them.
Here is a pic of a Quadsport 230

Is the hood on your LT250R actually black plastic or is it painted? If it it really is that color, it is a factory hood off of a 1985 model. That was the only year the black hood came out and it is definitely not shaped like a Maier hood. Your Zilla I can't tell anything about it from that view other than that is a funky color that is on the hood and seat... As far as I know Maier didn't have plastic that color so I am assuming that it is painted? Can't tell from the pic if it is stock plastic or not.

Just to be silly, notice anything wrong with my 250R?

The lt250 plastic is not painted. The lt500 I’m not sure but I don’t think it is, I will check later. Purple on a Quadzilla does look queer and I intend to replace the hood and seat cover before I ride it in any public places.

Nope I was referring to the motor... Notice anything strange about it?

Hey you said your Zilla isn't running yet, what is wrong with it? or should I ask what are you doing to it now? Did you buy it not running to fix it up? That is how mine was when I got it. I had to fix it too...

The Zilla plastic is kind of pinkish purple. It has a Maier (sp?) sticker on it and isn’t painted.
Yup, you Honda motor does look a bit abnormal. What the heck is it?
I’m not doing anything to my lt500 right now. I did buy it to fix up but I am waiting for a new workshop to be built so I can start. It will probably be a year or so before it runs. I’m going to tear it down completely and do a total rebuild. I will probably do something like a Trinity stage III or MX/TT kit.
The guy I bought it from said it had no spark and would not run. It has spark but there is absolutely no oil in the tranny (bone dry), the oil fill cap is missing, the clutch plates are stuck together, there are a few bolts missing including an engine mount bolt and from the smell of the gas tank I can predict that it was sitting for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time. On top of that he sold it to me for 500$ so I believe there is something else wrong.
I went ahead and bought it because that would have been a good deal even if the motor was not there at all. My original plan was to save my $ for another year and buy a running one. But even if there is a major problem, this one should be running for a lot less than buying one already running. Also, it will be more fun to rebuild it myself.

I posted what mine will do in the very first post on this thread and in my reply to your private message. My top speed is the very reason this thread exists.
