Maddog,
I'm pretty sure I have a compression release(small rubber tube with a metal fitting sticking out behind the cylinder)? If not where can I get one and how much are they? Are they a pain to install?
thanks

Used to own a 1995 230 Quadrunner. actually the same as the quadsport, but with electric start, automatic clutch and slightly different gearing.
It was a nice and reliable quad (apart from the rear swingarm/axle that gave me nightmares) and gave me many hours of fun.

quadsportin, The Quadsports came with a compression release from the factory. I didn’t use mine much because the cable broke and I never bothered to fix it. They are also really hard to kick over even with stock compression. I found that the best way when it was really bad was to face the Quad from the side and put my left knee on the seat so I could kick straight down with my right foot.

The compression release is on the top of the head on the right front side (if you sitting on the Quad. Here is a pic of it.

You Quadsport owners should start working out!
Try kicking a 230 with a White Brothers BIg BOre kit in it. Its all about momentum and having the piston at TDC when you kick to get the right strokes TO FIRE HER UP> I don't use the COMP. release.

later.

Can anyone tell me what companies sell a big bore kit and/or cams for a LT230? I wanna go faster, but I'm too cheap to get a different 4wheeler. And one other thing: what the hell is Webb Cams website?

I upgraded my old LT230 by selling it and getting a Z-400!
The LT230 was a great old quad. Still out there and riding the trails! See a side by side pic of my Z and restored LT230 on my page. bobcatv8.org
