02 Eiger 4x4 Auto Engine Noise & Oil Seep

I bought my Eiger used last fall, previous owner had it 8mths & put 1100kms on it (yea I'm in Atlantic Canada). After I bought it and dragged it home I found both rear tires plugged, both outer boots ripped and the air/filter compartment 1/4 full of dried muck.
After a week of repair and cleaning & new rubber (ITP 589 M/S - AWESOME ) & oil change it has been working fine all winter.
HOWEVER (always a however), I have noticed my Eiger makes a lot of engine noise while accellerating hard or under load up hills, sort of a loud metallic ticking, accellerating hard going downhill no noise. Does not appear to have any loss in power.
Would this be valves? Previous owner had it into the dealer at 500kms for oil change & valve adjustment and then at 1000kms. I have 2120kms on it now and am going to bring it into the dealer next month for regular service including Oil, Filter & Air Filter change, anything I should get them to look at?
I also have a small oil seepage just above the manual pull cord casing where it appears some electrical wiring encased in nylon mesh enters the casing. I do not get enough oil seepage to make a federal case out of it, enough to dampen the head of Q-tip after two weeks running. But my concern is that if oil can get out, when is getting in? Anyone seen this or have an idea.
Thanks.

What year is your bike? There was a recall on some of the 1st ones and a metallic knocking was one of the symptoms. Something about a nut coming off and causing the tranny to lockup. May want to see if yours was affected. My 5 sp is an 01 and wasn't affected luckily.

I have mine going in this week for a complete checkup including full range of fluid checks & changes, filter changes, drive belt check & valve check. I will bring up the issue with the loose nut and the metallic knocking noise.
My dealer in New Brunswick is really quite good, they have 3 shops in the Province and cover almost half of the population for Suzuki & Yamaha. They have really gone the extra mile for me in the past & I did not even get my machine from them, I bought it used.
Will keep you posted with whatever I turn up.
