OH yea, my quad wasnt built by Trinity, a local guy put it together. I also dont think its really a game of $$$, the twin is just better suited for building R's and roosting up the hill. I may be wrong, and i need proof, but I dont think your going to get the level of performance out of $1900 in a Zilla that you can out of a Banshee.

But its all fun and i do like Zillas for climbing hills in Walden!

Yeah sure it did 108mph out of the box...Now explain to me why once you take the RM 490 engine wich did about 85mph in stock form and put it in a quad frame it suddenly becomes much powerfull and much faster...Oh yeah what was i thinking it's a gearing thing...

I have seen quads hit over 100mph at the 1/4 mile drag strip and they are 95+hp machines, sure you could gear a 70hp (not a 50hp one though) quad to hit 108mph but it would become an absolute pig on take off so what's the point...

 

actually the prototype 500 had more horsepower numbers with higher gearing. right now the stock 500 has about 50 some horsepower . well they de-tuned for less horspower numbers and they geared it down as well. don't believe it if you don't want to but i have faith in suzuki and i think that it is possible. suzuki has some powerful engines under their belt. kawasaki built the strongest 250 engine but sucked at the rest of the atv.suzuki was far ahead of the game when they built the QUADRACERS 250 AND 500, WHO'S WITH ME ON THAT ONE?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

It is obvious to me that Suzuki has all the technical means needed to make the LT500r hit 108mph while retaining descent low rpm power but do "you" know what would be needed to be applied engine wise here??? You obviously dont...It would have costed you 20gs to buy one of them "out of the box" 108mph machines!!!

 

I love my 500, and Zuki was the first to build a 'high performance' quad in 85',
But I wouldnt call them 'ahead of the game'. Honda spent one more year designing and testing,
and it paid off with the Honda 250R.

 

true ,true Honda was ahead of the game also . they all were, but remember suzuki had designed the first race-designed atv and atv screen. Honda took the same idea and made it better. l[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Yea, by buddies banshee, which is a dune bike, smokes that guy.. White banshee with orange/grey paint job.

 

that green bike is the inlands atv bike, and its not all that fast
