I just got my new vinson 5 spd. on tuesday, and I am already having problems. It starts sputtering and choking when I put the throttle down to about half. I can't figure out what the problem is. I am taking it to my dealer tomorrow but I thought I might be able to save myself a trip.

 

You might ask the dealer if it is necessary to re-jet from the factory setting. I assume you are at high altitude and it may be too rich. Also could be an air leak around the carb boot. Good luck.

 

is there water in your oil or airbox, if so get a polaris.

 

Mine did the same thing as i put on same miles on it , it went away.

 

...maybe its the carb needle and seat..dirt stuck in it....ar a stuck float...

 

Sometimes if you accidentally leave the choke open the plug will load up and it will run terribly. Just a thought...

 

I was riding one day in the woods and had a similar issue. I found out that a plug behind the engine had gotten disconnected. The problem was very similar to the rev limiter in reverse.

 

Whatever you do...DON"T get a polaris....you'll be sorry.
