hey guys, I'm having trouble adjusting my front shocks, the clymer manual says to stick a screwdriver in and turn the base ring???????? I can tell ya mine aren't turning. Is there some trick to this? anyone know?

 

I know that with my '87 zilla, you needed a adjuster that you bought. Then you put it over the ring and it grabs the teeth that are on the ring. Then you turn the ring around to adjust it. Your '86 shocks should be the same, but maybe not since they changed a lot of stuff on the '87s. I've never seen '86 shocks, but I hope this gives you an idea of what you need to do. Good luck! Try a big set of Channel locks. That usually does the trick, and spray some WD-40, if there is any rust, or just do it anyways.
