getting an atv (Rancher 420 4x4) off ground
#1
Hey All !
Changing out rims and tires on an 08 Rancher. Need to have the machine off all fours as I wait to have the rims and tires re-mounted. I have a floor jack, a chain fall, and a couple of floor jacks at arms length. What's the best way to get the machine off the ground for a day or so? Where's the best place to position the jack under the machine? Could I use the chain fall by hooking to the front or rear rack? Thanks for the help again!

Put you floorjack under the rear diff and jack it up high enough to put your oversized tires on plus at least 1". Block the rear axle as far out as you can. Jack up the front and block under the front skidplate. Should do it.

I've lifted both my bikes by the rack (I've got a little jib crane in my toyhauler to assist in getting them in sideways) with no problems.
The racks are stronger than you would guess, and Honda suggests using only the racks as a tie down point.
