suzuki LT-4wd electric problems(no spark)
Hello all,
Just got a quad from a friend that had is to fix but never did, now its my turn. Its a 91 Suzuki LT-4wd It will crank but does so hard, If I remove the spark plug it does so freely. Seems like too much compression??
Also Ive notice that the spark plug isn't sparking. Also to get it to turn over I Have to jump the connections on the solenoid, could this be related to the above. Some of the the other forums posts, that they say the kill switch could be a problem(short). The switch is a key with on/off and lights.
Does any one have a wiring diagram for these machines.
Any ideas/ things to check?
thanks
michael

Hi,
Congrats on the new ATV. I have the 1998 model and had a dickens of a time getting it started. I finally noticed that there is a small lever that goes up and down next to the starter button on the left side of the handle bars. It appears that up is choke off and down is full choke. Don't know if you know about it or not, but I would check that first and hope it helps. Let me know if you need any other help.
