Default Grease nipple problems on Polaris 2001 and 2004 Sportsman

Have just purchased a new grease gun and cannot remove the coupler from the nipple. Had the same problem with my new Polaris brand (made in China) grease gun and have thrown it over the back fence.

What am I doing wrong or is there a particular type of nipple used on Polaris ATVs'

I had a similiar problem with my coupler. Try to push the coupler on at an angle and once it clicks straighten the aligment and it should stay put. To remove, don't pull straight off, angle the coupler off... First few times will be difficult.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that Firehawk, tried it and it works. Took five or six goes for the coupler to free up enough to allow me to remove without having to apply too much pressure. At least I now have a decent grease gun. My next effort is to try and stop one of the front wheels from locking in when in two wheel drive. Can happen at any time from a start. May post another thread to see if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks again for you help.

No problem, hope you get an answer on the front wheels. You lost me on that one.
