Anyone ever restore faded platic

I use peanut oil on the black plastic such as switch housings on my motorcycles. Rub it on and let sit for an hour and buff off with a rag and looks new.

Check this video out you can make it look new,but its a bit of time and work.

I sold professionally online for many years and believe it or not the best thing I have found to use is clear coat spray paint. We called it rebuild in a can. Not only will it seal vacuum leaks but it will restore faded paint quite nicely at the same time.

Had no idea you could bring back plastic by scraping off the faded. That would be fairly time consuming on an ATV though. I've seen some old red ones that are pretty much pink they were faded so bad.
