Check stator wires to cdi,then the coil. Stator exciter coil wires (Black/Red to Brown/White 120 ohms) Coil primary(coil tab to ground 0.3 ohms) Coil secondary (coil tab to plug wire,cap removed, 6.3k ohms) Plug cap itself (3.7k ohms to 6.3k ohms) Resistance specs are + or - 20 %
Hopefully this can help you narrow down the problem if it's electrical. Not a bad idea to check compression also. This is a symptom of low compression also. Runs good until hot,then dies when rings lose seal against cylinder wall.
