Is my CV joint bad or not

Default Is my CV joint bad or not


On my 02 Polaris Sportsman 500 I am replacing the rear outer CV boot. When I removed the axle and bad boot I noticed the CV joint has heat marks on the outside of the metal where the ball bearings are located. Is this normal or is the joint bad. It seems to roll OK but a little stiff.

It's normal, seen it on a lot of axles I rebuilt
