Default F-250, 5.4 gas mileage

I'm looking at an '01 F-250, super cab short box, 4X4. It has a the 5.4L motor in it. What kind of mileage can I expect from this? How is the 5.4 for power and reliability? Thanks in advance.

a 2003 stick shift gets 13 mpg and it's a f-250. they are really realiable. we had a 2001 f-150 with the 5.4 for 3 years and never had a problem. so it's a good motor.

I have a 98 F150 SC shortbed w/ 5.4 auto.. I have 285 tires on it, stock is 255.. I get 17 on flat ground on the highway after I adjust for the bigger tires.. I get 15 w/ hills and mtns on highway.. I get 9.5 towing a flatbed trailer. There is very little flat groud where I live.. I have 55k on my truck, so far so good.. Power is fair for towing the trailer w/ four quads..
