chevy 1/2 ton pull a 34' boat?

Default chevy 1/2 ton pull a 34' boat?

Thatz a fair size boat... 17ft boats can weigh up to 4000lbs i believe. 34ft mite require a 3/4 ton.

My 33' with twins was just over 10K lb full of fuel on the trailer. There is no way in hell I would have pulled it with a 1/2 ton. I'm not familiar with that boat, but depending on how much free board (side height) the boat has, you wouldn't want to get into a windy situation and have the boat shoving the truck around. Mine was not that high (cigarette style), and I've hit some windy passes that make you pucker in an 8k lb truck, wouldn't want to be there in a 5K lb truck. Also as stated above, if for some reason you are involved in an accident, not only would it be considered your fault, your insurance company may not be required to pay since you are doing something against the law.

I don't mean to scare you, but it's just not worth it.

turns out the boat was like 28' but pretty heavy for a 1/2 ton like 6,800#......even seemed heavier with dual axles in which the rear two were melting the bearings....LOL[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
