I have a MV. I ride it on and off with the ramps on the tailgate. We(quad and I) are about 1450 lbs. Wonder If I am overating the tailgate! The old Dodge is a 1/2 ton slant 6. It gets the job done.

 

Instigator.....like you said...it's a Dodge...it'll get the job done! That slant 6 is one of the easiest motors to work on I've ever seen.

 

I don't know about loading it on the tailgate, but never park it on the gate! I had a Grizzley fall off the back once, and then I got a set of Ultimate Ramps, with the tie downs. That actually has 2, 2" ratchet straps that go over the back wheels.

 

me and a friend stood on his half ton tailgate which was pushing about 425 total weight and he decided to kinda bounce up and down and it was fine so I am sure your tailgate will be fine heh
