I believe the feeling you're experiencing is called "Beaming". It's a flexing of the chassis that is predominantly noticeable on expansion joints. It is a common problem on a lot of long wheelbase trucks. I've been working for General Motors for the last 12 years, and even their shortbed trucks do it. Some worse than others.

 

It has been at the dealer 5days so far and they have found some problems with the suspension. I just don't know exactly what they found because the counter person did not have the work order handy. Hopefully I will get it back today.. I will post there finding as soon as I get it back..

Beaming? Not sure if what you are talking about is the same as what I am experiencing.

This is a problem that's very bad, I would classify it as dangerous. I am not the type of person to complain about every little thing, but this must be addressed. I told my wife if I die in this thing keep my service records and sue Ford. I actually tried to avoid the hwy when possible, at least until this is resolved.

 

Please keep us updated on the dealer's diagnosis.

 

They had it for a week and this is what they did.

Tech verified problem was happening

Checked Tire Pressure --OK
Recommended Decrease camber per TSB 06-22-14 whatever that means

They told me they realigned the front end, but that was not stated on work order. I will let you know if that was the fix..

 

Scott, I really don't have any problems with my 06 like you're having but I have had some minor shaking when I go over uneven road where the freeway meets an overpass or bridge of any kind. That's especially true when the bridge and the road are at a non-right angle. That sure jerks the hauler around when I go over one of those too.

Did anyone ever wonder why they can't build the road and the bridge at the same height? Always a big bump there!
