Has anyone tried to build something like the mountain goat brand trailer. They have 4 wheels that work like the tandems on a motorgrader. I was thinking I could use 2 X 4 rectangler tubing attached to the axle and spindles on the tubing. Any ideas? Thanks.

YOu might look at Nichols website. They have a bunch of stuff for ATV's, but are going to be pricey. You have to ask yourself a couple questions. What are you going to do with it. Estimate the weight capacity and double it, because no matter what you buy, you will eventually overload the crap out of it. I personally have a cheap metal garden cart I got at Lowes. It is 5 ft long, and 4 ft wide and cost me way under $500 a few years back. I have hauled tons of stuff in it and it has never let me down. Even dumps. I know i have exceeded it's load capacity but it didn't complain.
The dual axles have a distinct advantage over 2 wheel trailers when it comes to stability. Again, you need to consider what it is you are lookint to do with it.
The Nichols trailers are definately high end and will without a doubt handle just about anything you can throw at it. Not for the average guy with a couple loads a year type need.

now thats what i am looking for dragginbutt, but will pobably build my own, usually a third of the cost and some time, but like you said i know i am going to overload the crap out of it with firewood, i also have a small cart like that, i know i have exceeded the max. 650 lb load on by building side boards to stack more on. (not bad for 26 bucks off ebay, but glad to make it back the house with a load-lol)
