Default scary saturday

Low pressure causes too much flexing. It's the flexing that kills the tires. Think of how much the tire tread goes in under load and then back out as another section takes the load. In and out constantly. It's like putting one end of a steel bar in a vise and bending it up and down. First it gets hot then it breaks. Flexing from low tire pressure will also heat up synthetics like nylon the same way. The heat raises the air pressure and sooner or later they pop.

Unfortunately it took me awhile to figure out the right pressure for my trailer tires. The sticker said 80 psi but it eats the center off them if I run any more than 30 psi.

i have yet to lose a tire when trailering *knock on wood* but then again i always check the tire pressure before leaving and after the first 20 min of driving i pull over and check them all to make sure none are running hot. not saying i never will have a blow just havent had it happen yet. I bought my trailer new but it came with retreads to keep the price down those were the first things i replaced then connected the electric brakes up they wanted $250 to do it *are you kidding me? * anyways for those of you that check your tires before and during your trip happy trails for those that dont, well you are pushing your luck!
