I know exactly what you are saying. My wife told me if I took her fishing more, she would go hunting more. Needless to say, she doesn't hunt with me Actually, I wish she would hunt more, I enjoy, enjoying the outdoors with my family With fishing, if the action is good, then I enjoy fishing, if it's dead, I don't want to be there But, I guess that's with everything in life.

It gets old quick for me just baiting hooks and fixing lines but that's part of being a Dad

So, true Just like everything else, you have to start somewhere But, the rewards are great. seeing that first fish pulled in I remember all the frustrations when we started riding. Daddy start the quad, daddy I'm stuck, daddy need gas, daddy this, daddy that. Now, they are self-sufficient and I really don't hear that anymore They even know how to check the oil and add more if needed. They even clean the sand and dirt away from the oil orfices. When you have to do it over and over again it gets tiring. But, when you don't 'have" to do it anymore, then you miss it Atleast I do

Ive learned that those shows didnt hardly help me at all. Most of the learning i did was in books and on-lake experiance..

And fishing can be poo anywhere if you dont know what to use.. well, most of the time. There are those days when you go out and can look at the fish and still not catch them..

Only fishing I've done of resecent, and that's been 2 years ago now, is deep sea fishing out of Moro Bay. Seems like every time we went the fish got smaller and smaller. It's all those sport fishing guys paying $50 head to go catch fish 10 at a time if you ask the environmentalists. argggg. The problem is the commercial guys just going out and scooping stuff up. But then they've also been on the sucky end of the environmentalists as well.

LJ, your right on knowing what bait to use. At first we were using, shrimp and minnows. We were getting some fish, but, not all that much. Then we learned about Baptist (brown) Crickets and Mormon (black) Crickets. Hoss should know about the Mormon ones Up where we were at, they used Mormon Crickets. They are huge. Never seen crickets 3-4 inches big. There's a place about 45 miles from where we were at that you catch them (I'm serious) We were given 3 baggies of them and boy, did they workThe fish loved them I should of taken a picture of the crickets. Unbelieveable

Fishing is always good when you are catching something but even when you aren't, it's still better than work!

You know, I actually had a reply written last night...I pressed "reply", and low and behold, someone must have used the phone. Anywho, at that point in time, the Mrs. informed me that she needed some attention. Needless to say, her proposal was better than this forum.

So, what I was going to say was, that Marshall Dillon needs to learn how to post pictures correctly. I think if you asked a moderator, they could give you a hand. And what's up with the hat? Are you trying to score points with dbeck? Nice fish!!!!

Skinner, I remember going to Morro Bay when I was younger and throwing rocks at the seals (or whatever they where). I thought my Grandpa was going to kick my a$$ (my grandparents used to live in Arroyo Grande and I still have an aunt and uncle in San Louis Obisbo (sp?)).

I went riding last night...got to the top of a mountain and the feds had a gate across the trail...I hate when that happens.

Gees, what a morning...we had an emergency at work and now I'm ALL sweaty. Nothing like an SCBA and a Hazmat suit.
