just my own opinion, but i am not a fan of small tires or single axles on trailers for quads or hauling anything. to me, i value my investment of my quads and anything else i haul. that's why i bought a car hauler trailer with angle iron sides. 83" spread on the inside and 16' long. tandem axle. that way, my 15" 10 ply tires handle heavy loads, plenty of heat, and in case of a wheel bearing failure or a blowout, the tandem takes up the slack until i can get it pulled over without risking the possibility of flipping my trailer. as a matter of fact, i just came back from an atv trip and lost a wheel bearing 12 miles from my house. had i had a single axle trailer, i would've been stuck on the side of the road. BUT NO, my tandem axle did fine and i limped it into town. thank goodness i had the tandem. just my thoughts, and by the way, in Texas, you can get a tandem axle car hauler for $1700 and up.....used run $800-$1000. plus i'm not limited to grass clippings, it'll haul 10,000 lbs easy.

I'm a huge fan of overkill, but the only problem there is that not everyone has a full size truck to pull that car hauler. That means a smaller single axle trailer is the only choice.

A few years ago, I got this 8x10 trailer off craigslist for $100. It was pretty rough looking when I got it, but it worked just fine for a couple years. Last year I put new decking on it, painted it, put on some new LED lights, upgraded it to a 3500 pound axle, and put on some new load range E tires. After all of that, I have somewhere between $600 - $700 into it.
