When you think of all the things you can do with these big bore 4x4 theres one thing the p700 dose better then the rest.Go fast and it is fast but thats all its got.It cant push or pull or hall like a sp700 the sp700 well go thuogh mud that would make the p700 screem like a girl. Now I cant say anything about the new cat because Ive yet to even see one.And Im hearing alot of good things about the new EFI comming out.So thats why I pick the sp700,

i c no point in trying to reply to these posts anymore. no one gets anywhere, you cant convince the guy who owns his quad say a p700, that your sp700 is better. you just argue back and 4th. no 1 quad is better than the other(except mine is better than jarods. lol)

From what I hear, the new fuel injection has taken care of hesitations, poor throttle response, poor starting, and poor running at different altitudes. Now being fuel injected it might have the driveability characteristics of a carbureted Honda. What did they say, 18 more miles per tank full for only an additional $500?

We've got a problem here, with these manufactures making such big motors and mating them with IRS, I feel sorry for the new 650 cat owners with big *****, cause there's going to be alot of new injuries. I have a 2003 ac 500i and to be honest with you it doesn't handle quite so good at high speeds don't get me wrong I love the bike but sometimes two things just don't go together like the super high ground clearance and the IRS mated with a 650 power house were going to see alot of guys in the bush. Also it worries me when you see rumors of 800cc power plants mated with these suspension platforms, I think there looking for trouble. Its hard to get the best of both worlds but you just can't change the facts. Maybe a self tuning independant might work but were taking future trash now.

That's true about the IRS bikes they dont' handel near as well at high speed. The polaris and the grizz both have swaybar type devices to help in that area, but the cat's actualy brag about there true independant suspension. I hope they put a sway bar on the 05' I heard the 04' does not have one. I can see how that would improve ride quality by not having one but I would think power slides and doughnuts and high speed trail riding would be a little nerve racking. The sportsman I had would not even do a power slide, it would just wallow around a lot in the turns. I can't imagine how wild that would get with out a swaybar in high speed turns.

We all defend our favorites. All the new big bores are very impressive, powerful, could and do get out of control. I think the government, or someone else; will put some kind of cap on them. It will last a few years and the manufactures will figure a way around it. Look at the automotive industry. Insurance and emissions killed the muscle car era, and now the cars are faster than ever with 1/2 the motor and twice the gas mileage, and with the air conditioning on.

specta, I hear that, I just sold my Ninja ZX12, I am 48 and insurance had gotten outta sight on it. I was glad to sell it this time of year. A young male rider doesn't have a chance getting insured on a sportbike. Now I'll be able to pick up my new P700 without going to the credit union. Hows Utah this time of year? I want to take a trip out to Moab next spring, I have a buddy who went out by you for 4 weeks last spring riding, he still talks about it!!!!

Bigdaddy; There are still tons of places to ride where the snow isn't too deep. Moab, most of southern Utah and out west in the desert. No way to say how many thousands of mile of trails out here, I sometimes think they are never ending. If you like trail riding and have some time, check out the Piute Trail. Marysvale is in the center of the Paiute Trails, marysvale.org We enjoy staying at Moores Old Pine Inn. What a great trip.
We have been to Moab in our 4-wd truck several times, the first was back in 1988. Had to try out the new Detroit Locker and Trak-Lock. Never been there on our ATV's, but will soon. One of my daughters and husband have a "rock crawler" and go to Moab all the time. They were there over the Thanksgiving weekend.
If you like riding ATVs, Utah is a very friendly place. Hope you make it out one day, you'll be talking about it for a long time too.
