My winch has 4 wires. Two wires go to the switch from the winch and two go to the switch from the battery. I know the Warn is different.
I don't see why you couldn't just wire it to the battery also using the switch. The winch will drain the battery without anything to charge it.
My winch works directly off of the battery. The only thing the quad does is hold the winch and charge the battery.
I don't know if the battery could be too powerful for the winch. (If your using a car battery.)

Coyote thanks for the reply but they do sound different. My switch is a low voltage looking thing
that runs to the solenoid. There must be an easy way to jump things out to test I just cant see it.
thanks again
