yes two wheel drive will help when trying to throw roosts...I mean the quads out in the desert is mostly sport quads...if you have four wheels spinning all four are gripping so it is harder for the back end to slide around.

just ot make sure all of u know im talking about dirt not sand, the closest sand ot me would be, oh wait dk.

Get the 424, man, you'll never be sorry. I put one on my Honda 300 4x4 and the fun factor is greatly increased. When trail riding I can goose the throttle in the corners and just slide the hind end of the quad right around. Mix a little mud or wet leaves into the equation and you can swap ends if you're not careful. I've found myself riding in 2wd about 95% of the time now but I have 4wd when I need it.

if theres even a little mud i can do doughnuts, but what i have trouble with is dry dirt. no way can i get it to slide sideways wich would result in a one foot turning radius or a doughnut. but will i be able to through dirt, far?
