has anyone ever put a warn 1700lb utility winch on a four wheeler cause i got one for Christmas and was wandering if it would work well enough on my recon 250 because if it is pulling 1700 lbs it is drawing 245 amps so i was wondering if my recon made enough power to use this winch. i was also wondering the same things about the winch on my brothers ac 250. so please help me out if you can thanks.

 

I don't know about the mounting, but I wouldn't trust that winch. I've been through 3 in the last month. The problem is the rotary switch. It will short out and cook your battery. I put a Superwinch circuit breaker ($6.00 dollars ) and I put a heavy duty switch from an A2000 winch. This helped a lot. Also, beware of the freespool lever. If it is not fully engaged the winch will break. Good luck.
