best mud tire
Maxxis Mudzillas may look really mean, but I don't consider them the best. Everyone's got an opinion though. I think Highlifter has done their homework with the Outlaws if you want the absolute best mud tire money can buy. However, tires like this usually suck out of the mud so buyer beware. Gators and Mud Bugs provide a good mix of all terrain performances, with a lot more mudding ability than say Dirt Devils or Bear Claws. I've heard great things about the Goodyear Mudrunners.

Remember that to pick the best mud tire you have to consider the quad as well. I know that ITP Mudlites and Blackwaters change the tread slightly when you get to a 26" and above tire height. I think they call these the x/t. This is important to consider if you can't run these large tires because of quad type or engine size. Be sure to compare the tires at the size that you plan to run. Going from a 25" to 26" Mudlite opens up the tread considerably and almost doubles the tread height.
Tire and wheel weight is also an important consideration when talking about older or smaller quads. The quad will be harder to stop, brakes will wear faster, and shocks and joints will take a beating trying to control the extra weight of large, heavy mud tires. Broken parts suck.
I run 27" Mudlites on ITP C Series type 6 wheels on my 700 EFI SP. Steering effort at speed is actually lighter than the stock Badlands. I really like the tires and reccomend them highly, however they do rub slightly so I'll probably get a lift. I'll try to get some picks posted.
