The Bayou was nice. I haven't had any problems with it and it has plenty of power for wheeling but tops out at around 50mph. Overall though i was able to ride with 300's-500's and only managed to get stuck twice. They're awesome quads, but I'm too competative. My dad's still happy with his and on our ride with the 3-500's he was on a 454 AC.

Have you looked at the Polaris Scrambler. These seem to be a good mix between sport and utility. It's 500cc and four wheel drive. List is 6K, but I know dealers will let the 04's go otd for about what you'd expect to pay for the Yamaha. A couple of guys I ride with have these and they move really well. Nice thing is you can switch into and out of "all wheel drive".
