hey...my HMF utility exhaust is sitting up in my attic along with my mud bugs...hehe...my dad doesnt know bout them yet...well...my friend installed his HMF on his wolverine...and WOW this thing sounds great...but its so loud...my dad said earlier he didnt want me to buy the HMF cause it was too loud[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]...bah...any ideas?...anything i can do without a sacrifice of power?...thanks...

 

This doesn't help you but I am wondering if your friend notice a distinct power difference with the HMF? I was looking at the FMF megamax II, but I still haven't decided yet.

I've had the IDS2 on my Rancher for about 2 years now. It has not given me any problems to date (maybe I'm lucky), is not too loud, and with the filter/rejetting made significant power gains.

 

MNwolverine01...he also installed the warn 424 kit and i drove it in 2wd...he said it had more power...he could go up hills and stuff easier...hes not a expierienced driver and he doesnt downshift...so i think that says a little...idk though...it seems like the gains should be more for $200...maybe ill take mine back for a ids2 if i can?...idk...the hmf is abnoxiously(sp) loud...it sounds good...but its just so loud...it is close to giving me a headache when i ride it...

 

does anyone with a Bigbear know the differences between the ids2 and the HMf?...please help me...blah...im not sure if i can send it back...hmmm...thanks again..

 

alright...im sending back the hmf...its just too loud...i dont wanna be restricted from places to ride by my pipe...im not gonna order another one any time soon...but i think ill go with the ids2 when i do...does anyone know what kind of gains i can expect?...a range depending on how many discs i put in?...thanks...

 

Just how loud is to loud? I was thinking of getting the HMF with the quiet core and the spark arrestor for my Bear so I could still ride in National Forrest. I'am just trying to get a good idea for how loud it is. Thanks.

 

its like 4 times louder than stock...the quiet core n spark arrestor will take away from power....im thinkin about the ids2...its got discs so u can tune it.. the hmf is just way to loud...itll **** people off
