ids2 vs. hmf utility vs. FMF

Default ids2 vs. hmf utility vs. FMF

just wondering what i will get the best gains with on my bigbear...sound isnt really a factor i guess...but i dont want it to be so loud that i cant hear myself think for a 1/2 hp...thanks for your replys..

I'am in the same boat! I've heard nothing but good about the hmf, although they say it can be loud. I ride in National Forest 1-2 times a year on a trip we go on, so I would have to get the system thats 96 decibals (I think). I've heard people say that the ids2 doesn't hold up well. I haven't heard to much about the fmf and I'am interested to hear what others have to say. I think I will end up going with the HMF anyway.

I'm trying to find out how guys like the HMF QS-1. If you get the power gain without all the sound, that is the one I want.

I looked at the hmf website, and noticed you get a spark arrestor with every pipe, if so I might get the utility series. I too would like to know more about the Qs-1. I've heard that you lose 1/2 hp from the regular utility series.

The HMF tech told me that the Qs-1 pipes make approximately 1/2 of the HP that the Utility pipes make on the bikes that they tested.

any other pipes you guys are lookming at?...the qs-1 isnt so appealing anymore...a 1hp gain is nothing for over $300...i want more than just 2hp too...what options do i have?...

Are you sure? I thought it was losing only 1/2 of 1hp. Not half the total hp gain.

The hmf utility is what I would look at, but you could also look into pro-circut t4, or a white bros.. Those two you hadn't mentioned above. I just think the hmf utility gives more like 3 hp gain. You wont get the full gains untill you add a new filter and re-jet, then your talking about 5-7 more hp, thats what I'am setting out to accoplish this winter.

thanks...5-7 sounds alot more appealing[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]...i liked the looks the the HMF utility the most too
