800 REAL cc's

I cannot see this happening too soon with the Polaris. They just released the 800, they will not redesign an engine again after just one year. The current 800 ehgine has been released in other models for quite some time. I can see Kawi possibly adding EFI to the BF next yeat, but its doubtful that it will reach 800 too soon. As for BRP, the rumors are of an 800 v-twin EFI, the 1000c Rotax in Ski-doos will not fit an application for a quad.

it seems as though the engines have reached their limate in hight inside the quad frames, so the only thing i see happening is it getting wider, say a straight 3 from polaris. now that would be bad ***

The only consistant rummor I have herd is about Bomb and a outlander 800 v-twin EFI derived from the 1000 V-twin in there snowmobile. Spring is just around the corner, I hope some of these rummors come to be true.

I don't have alot a time on the new one yet so I am not going to comment on rather Polaris has fixed there quality issues from the past polaris quads I have owned. I will say I try and keep an open mind and give all MFG a chance when I buy a new Quad. I have tested all the Big bore quads out and still rank the Twinpeaks/prairie700's as the best all around quad out there. I have three of those and have been searching for several months now for something new to try for 05' and finaly desided to give polaris another chance. I test road the KQ for a 3rd time back to back with the SP800 and I just liked the way the SP felt, more powerful, more stable, and smother riding. That new 760EFI motor and features won me over plus a 1 year warranty and a lifetime belt warranty helped convince me to go ahead and give it a try. I am not sure what Polaris changed since the last SP700 I test road a year or so ago but this 800 rides smooooth alot like the Sp500 I had in 2000 and 2001. I will add I won't be making any big tripps without a spare unit on the trailer until the SP800 proves itself reliable. The same dealer who used to steer me away from his polaris row, is now telling me that polaris has been working hard to clean up there reliabilty issues. Considering they sell suki , honda and polaris I felt that was a more non bias opion than a strickly polaris dealer might give me. Since they get to work on them all the time and deal with irate customers and what not with three big name brands.

Yes, I stand corrected - the V-twin in the Bomb snowmobiles IS the one rumored to be in the new Outlanders, supposed to be in April. Does anyone have any more info on the Yamaha the one post spoke about? If tru, that would be the ultimate machine to get, Yamaha is #1 for reliability in my books.
