I have question like this is there a differentials in rear transmission?So can the rear tires of atv turn with different speeds?I hope u got my point.I know the sport quads dont have but in utility?

 

Unless you are looking at the Polaris ATP that has two wheel open diff mode, two wheel locked diff mode, and four wheel locked front and rear diff mode. All other late year ATV's sport and utility have an locked rear differential.

 

U want to say the the Yamaha Grizzly(for example only) dont have open diff?Even no limited slip?How this will affect on tyres lifetime?

 

I think the kawi bayou 300, has a differential in back , but those are the only two i know about.
Atvs are meant for off road only, and they are designed for maximun traction and tire wear isnt the first priority in the design.
All the 4x4 utes have a differential in front, but in back, with those two exceptions, its a solid axle.
Its a bit tough on grass , to do a sharp corner, because the inside tire is forced to turn the same as the outside tire, and ends up chewing up the ground. Also in high traction situations, like pavement, it can act kindof squirelly, because the tires cant slip very easily.
Unless you do alot of pavement pounding, the tires will last a long time.

 

speaking of pavement pounding i only get about 2000 miles on a set of tires... way to pricey [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

But is this possible to buy aftermarket rear open differential what is lockable?Is anybody done this before?

 

I havent seen any thing in the aftermarket, but someone could make it. But im betting it would be really expensive. Youre best bet is the polaris atp, or bayou300.
