Default 60$ dollar winches

My brother bought one a couple of weeks ago from Costco in the Halifax area. He paid $59 +tax for it. I believe the brand name is Champion. It looks EXACTLY like a superwinch. It came with a snatchblock and remote control cable thay plugs into the winch when you need to use it.

He put one in his cart and after 5 min he thought maybe he better buy a couple more at that price. When he got back to where they were a guy had the remaining 10 loaded up in carts...he was apparenly a bit smartet and FASTER than my bro. He could have made a nice profit reselling them.

I had a good look and it's a nice lookinf winch. He hasn't mounted it yet but by the looks and feel of it he has one heck of a winch and an unbelieveable price.

KEEP CHECKING OUT YOUR LOCAL COSTCO!! You never know when you find them. when you do buy fast because at that price they'll go fast!!

Can you imagine....10 2000lb winched for $590 Canadian!! Holly bull pucky!!!

That's one of the things I learned about Costco a long time ago. If you see it, and you like it, you'd better buy it - right now, because tomorrow it's gone. And it never comes back.

Quadduck, the key word there is "Check". You really have to look carefully at anything Harbor Freight sells. Know your product before you buy. There's a reason why stuff is so, uh, 'cheap' there.

Its the same winch that costco is selling just has a different sticker, and I use to turn wrenches for a living so I think I know what the difference is in the quality of mechanical objects, and not everything that they sell is junk. I bought one and no complaints yet. Sure they sell some real crap but they are like a lot of discount places. Maybe the local store out here is different but they sell brand name stuff too, and not all of it is seconds or warranty repaired items. Buyer beware is allways a good thing no matter where you shop.

I agree, alot of the stuff Harbor Freight sells is cheap but some of the stuff is a great deal. I bought a trailer tongue jack with wheel for $17 on sale and it works great on my aluminum triton xt10-101 trailer. I have heard of alot of guys using those low priced winches and most of them have had no complaints yet, how do you hook it up as far as the remote cable goes, most of the pics I see have the yellow remote control with the large red button and large green button. can you wire these winches up to a handlebar mounted winch button.

i have a harbor freight winch, same exact winch as cosco, below are some pictures of it installed, the only issue i have, although it hasn't caused a problem is the winch supposly pulls at its full power somewhere near 70 amps, i know it pulls more then 40 at a lesser load, i was blowing 30 amp fuses till i realized i needed a auto reset circuit breaker, i now have a auto reset 50 amp breaker, but haven't pulled to hard with it on the breaker so i don't know how much more it pulls, other then that it works flawless pulls my rancher sideways through a bank of snow, the remote is huge and the buttons are hard to hold down, but i put quick disconnect plugs and keep the remote in the trunck till i need it, the entire mounting bracket is custom made, entire thing with fairlead, cost me less then 75 bucks

here are the pictures of it, roller feed didn't come with it
