Default Mud tires

Lookin for everyones help here, I'm lookin to get some serious mud tires. I want to be able to pull through the nastiest mud imaginable. They're goin on a 04 big bear not lookin to go any bigger than 26 but would like to stay with the stock size of 25. I like the vampire asx but they're only 4 ply. Has anyone had experience with these tires and is the 4 ply rating giving you a problem with unwanted flats. If anyone has any other suggestions on tires I would be interested in please send em my way. Thanks for all your help in advane.

I think you would be well pleased with the 589's. I went w/ my buddies Friday on a ride. Both ride Racher S. One 2003 model the other 2005. One has 26' Mudzillas, the other 26' 589's. They hooked bumpers, and it was a dead even. Neither pulled the other. The 589's ride really good for a mudtire, and have some pretty deep lugs. They are also lighter than the Zillas. I think the Zillas would clean better than the 589s, but how much are you really gaining? I think the 589s are a geat mudtire, and a decent trail tire. The Mudzillas are maybe a better MUD tire, but not a good trail tire. The Zillas feel like you are rock crawling on flat ground. This is just my recent observation.

There are three main things you want when mudding:

1. Good tires
2. Ground clearance
3. Power

There is another big factor when mudding and that's experience but unfortuniately you can't buy that in a store. With your size quad I think I would go with 25" or 26" ITP MudLites or 589s.

I think I'm gonna go with either the 25 inch 589s or the 26 inch dirt devil xts. Let me know your thoughts.

i've got the 25 inch mudbugs on my bigbear, they work real good in the mud, and they pull fine in 2nd gear going through stuff unless it gets real mucky

I think you would be happy w/ either, but I would go w/ the DDXT's becouse of the extra ground clearence, they would be lighter than the 589's, and LOTS CHEAPER.
