Is this the same Sportsman 500 that most people say is the tried and true
Polaris that has all the bugs worked out of it? So they need some silver tape
to hold them together, and if the tape falls off (or is never put on by the fat
bastard on the assembly line to begin with), the exhaust melts the plastic?
Go to Honda or Yamaha, they wont melt when ridden.
Polaris, Made in the USA. (for all that's worth)

nice.
anyway, this has been happening to ALL 05's, theres been a few posts about this on this forum so far. the plastics are coming too close to the pipe and their melting. polaris is gonna give you a new set of plastics for that area and just more tape. go up to walmart and splurge a little and get the 3M tape. its really good and you wont have the problem again. for 06 their replaceing the tapes anyway.
