Default Trailer for my ATV

Around here if someone wants a trailer they get some angle iron or squarestock, a picec of heavy wall tubing for a drawbar, an old axle c/w the hubs, do some welding & bolt on a couple of old rims & tires. If you want it to dump just make it dump & use some old plywood to make the box. It doesn't look pretty but you make it as sturdy as you want and heavy enuff to haul what you want. Usually the materials can be scrounged or a buddy has them kicking around somewhere and the cost is negligible. About the only thing you go to the store for is the coupler.

I built a trailer that is a flatbed dump and doubles as an arch for pulling atv size logs.
It has a winch on it that easily dumps the trailer. The axle stubs are rated at 2000lb, but I would never tax my quad with that much weight. However, it will haul enough wood to make a good load for my 650
I have some pics, but don't see a browse selection here. If anyone is interested pm me plumbstraight@yahoo.com

This little harbor freight trailer is quite rugged and a pretty good value.

Harbor Freight Trailer

It's a lot of trailer for 200 bucks.

I have one and know a couple of other guys that have them. I've been pretty happy with it. The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one, is that the mesh floor is too large. A smaller expanded metal mesh would have been better.

I'm planning on using a linear actuator to make it powered dump. I friend made removable metal sides and ti really turned out nice. He's suppose to make me up a set this spring.

By the way there are other places selling that same trailer for 50-100 bucks more.

Bought an H&H 5x10 tilt bed trailer. It has 12 inch wheels, is very easy to hook up with a 2 inch ball, easily pulled by the quad, capacity of 1500 lbs and the quad can fit in it and be pulled by a truck or by another quad. Bought it a couple of years ago. At the time you could buy anywhere in the USA for $800. Here in Canada phoned around and they went from $995 to $2400. I paid $995. Great trailer. Just keep the tilt assembly oiled up once in a while. Haul bales, pails, chemicals, wood, garbage, my quadivator to take to another farm, ride lawn mower to take to town house and to another farm, etc.....
