Default is 70 fast for a utility.

hey kodiak never really said, but is that a job i can tackle myself or have to take it to the shop and get fixed?

Its a job you can do yourself if your much of a mech.
I would recommend you use a service manual.
I dont know of any online manuals.

hey i hit a rut going 63 on my friends parrie and the quad flipped for times and then went into a dicth god i was ok becuse i jump right off when the two wheels can off the ground well not ok a broken wrist but i would of been dead if i was still on and guess what all it needed was new handles bars we just ran down to the dicth like 30mins later and started it up and drove it out we told are dads we slamed on the brakes becuse a deer ran out and it flipped so they just got really mad o and we told them i was going 20 haha i will never ride that fast again 40 good for me

I'm with Starky. I had a Brute Force up to approximately 55 or 60 on pavement and it was frightening to be perfectly honest. You could feel that if there was any squirrelly-ness you wouldn't have a chance to try to correct it.

I had my old Honda 300 fourtrax 4x4 topped out on an asphalt road once (probably 45 max) and it started to sway and there was just no way to stop it. The atv was rolling into the ditch and I was sliding down the pavement on my back before I had a chance to try to correct the situation.

Even on gravel roads I rarely go over 40 now. Maybe it is because I'm getting old enough that injuries don't heal or that I've seen too many people paralyzed or with head injuries but I don't do the fast stuff anymore. I stay off sport quads and I always wear a helmet. I'm more interested in how much power I have from 0-30mph and how well a machine handles and puts that power to the ground. I could care less about how fast it will go on the top end. I'm looking at getting one of the new 800 bombers but I could care less that it goes 70 or whatever. I still want gobs of usable power and torque but I want something that is comfortable to ride so it is easy on the old back.

Sucks to get old.

Its reading slower because the tires are so huge at the point where it the speed sensor, im guessing on the drive shaft, is spinning slower than usual while the size of the tires are allowing it to go faster. Another thing is because the tires are now 28 that must add at least a couple of pounds to each tire= more rotating mass. The extra weight of the rotating mass may be not allowing it to go as fast as numbers in a calculator say it should go.
