Default Winch mounting plates

I'd like to hear everyone's experience with various brands of mounting plates, from the no names like Venom (on Ebay) to the name brands like Ramsey or Warn.

I won an auction for a Warn for one of my Ranchers and will soon follow it up with a Warn 3.0ce winch. Once that is absorbed, I plan on getting a winch for the other Rancher and just wanted to hear the likes and dislikes of various mount systems.

I emailed a guy on Ebay selling KFI mounts, he fabricates his own, tells me he bought a few different brands of mounts and tried to incorporate what they liked about the various mounting system in to theirs, leaving out things they didn't like. My main concern, other than being able to mount the winch is that the winch mount grabs the ATV frame and holds on, not being able to shift around. I mentioned the Venom earlier cause I noticed the front mounts for the rancher are a pair of u shaped straps attached to the mount plate by a pair of twisted straps. I wasn't sure how strong those little twisted straps would be if a person were to get under a heavy load.

My dealer got mine from Western Power Sports, and it works great. I installed it myself.

I think I will try the KFI model when the time comes to install a winch on the second Rancher. Thanks for the input all.

As you can see below I have to winches. I used the warn winc mount. I like the warn plates more because they put the winch a little higher under the atv. I go through alot of stuff. Everytime I ride I end up using the winch for something. But then again thats why I bought it. I like to spay a lubricant on the winch everytime after a ride. Don't know if it helps but it make me feel better about the care I put into them. I also like to watch for cable stacking. I hear they can ruin a winch. Other than that I love the winches.

I bought the Venom 2500lb. from Ebay for my 05 Rubicon and I was impressed with the mount; lazer cut, powder coated and fit really well, not u-clamps. The only thing I did different was bought grade-5 bolts to replace the ones provided. Also, the mount is drilled to fit Warn and Ramsey.
