Who makes the best utillity atvs????

Yamaha has some exciting features on the new Grizz but I'm not sure I'd call them the most innovative manufacturer. I'd consider giving that title to Polaris. Especially looking at the past 10 years of quad evolution. While they may not always work well, they do have A LOT of unique and useful features. Polaris gets knocked a lot on here but I don't think people can argue against how much they've contributed to the evolution of the utility ATV.
I would say that Polaris, Yamaha, and AC are probably the most innovative of the manufacturers. Most would think that Honda is last in this category but I'd disagree. I'd put Kawi last. What have they really contributed? At least Honda makes some cool transmissions although at the expense of any other type of feature.

Polaris is inovative on a lot of levels EFI/CVT auto trans/ accys/ ect.ect.ect.
Honda is inovative in there trans and horz motor mounting
Kawi contributed the first v-twin ute and first v-twin sport
Can-am contributed the duel trailing arm rear IRS suspension and the first v-twin EFI motor , a step through chassis designs, rear radiators, ect, ect,
AC seems mainly to be inovative in there racks and accys.
Suki, not sure
Yamaha power steering
Not saying these were good or bad inovations, but I beleive they were each the first to do them and hince the term inovation. If I missed some please add to the list or correct me if I mis spoke.

The composit racks are, in my opinion, very cheap. I think he was referring to ACs Speedrack anyway. But i hear the "plastic" polaris racks are junk

Thats it V2, I could not remember what AC called there rack system, thanks.
I think if the can am EFI V twin is just an update then were do we draw the line between update and innovation, one could theoretically argue that everything is nothing but an update of the original Honda 3 wheeled ATV-ATC from back in the 70's. It is really where it all started.

You get nothing for nothing and every advantage has a disadvantage. Every wonder why a 660,700 Grizzly is 600lbs dry weight? I mean there are 400 and 300cc utility's that weight that much. My friend with a 660 Grizzly tried to bumb anouther ATV out of a stuck spot on the trial and he almost wrote his front bumber off doing it.
I have seen many ATVs do end over ends down hills and you just get back on them and ride but a 660,700 grizzly would not surprise me if it was a write off after doing something like that. The grizzly is 100lb lighter than anything in its class where did they do all this weight shaving from ?100 lb of steel is a lot of material. Light weight on a sport quad makes sense but on a Utility ATV I don't think so.

Polaris has rear brakes alone. The hand brake works all 4 wheels and the foot brake works rear only. The ebs on them is great for my riding. But I can agree if you don't know how to use it the back end can slide around on loose rocks going down hills. All you have to do is crack the throttle and the ebs will release and you can use the brakes instead. The 07 models now offer a 4 wheel ebs and it works great. You could not pay me enough to get rid of my ebs. I've haven'y had a problem yet going down hills with it other than it working so well I have to give it gas to go faster. The only down hill roll over I've seen is from people using too much front brake.
