Oldturtle and others with 700 Grizz
I had a chance to check one out the other day (sit in it and make motor noises)
It seems to me that perhaps Yamaha is stepping slightly away from the "Ute" end of things and going a bit more towards the "Sport" end of things with this new Grizz. I suppose that is where the money is as a very large part of the market is now recreational riders buying up Quads for weekend riding.
Am I correct in this assumption? It seems the racks are getting smaller, and the bike just looks like it wants to go fast.

dirtydude. The 700 Griz may be sportier than the 660 with more power, lower CG, wider stance; but I would not say that Yamaha intentionally is moving away from ute and toward sport with the new Grizzly. Yamaha already had the best selling big bore with the 660 Griz but the 700 King Quad was better in several catagories including EFI and sportier high speed trail riding due lower CG and Yamaha does not like to be rated behind anyone for very long. So Yamaha designed a new machine to better compete with the King Quad without loosing any of its utility features such as ground clearance, IRS, low range, diff lock, large fuel capacity. In fact the main goal of the 700 redesign was to make the new Griz more comfortable for a larger percentage of riders for a longer period of time as with the power steering and the two inch thicker seat.

Can-Ams are built in Mexico and have connection to Rotax. >>>>>>>
Actually, no they aren't built in Mexico but will be one day. Rotax is owned by BRP which also builds Can-Am so yeah, I guess you could say there is a connection. Ford, Chevy and Dodge all build vehicles in Mexico.

i think, if u got a honda, ur guna like honda the most, ect. with all the brands.
My buddy had a ford a couple years ago and now has a chevy he used to talk about ford like its king now he thinks ford sucks and chevy rocks.
Just how i look at it.

Mexico. The factories are under construction and anouncements have been made to their Quebec employees. But my point was that I see no dissadvantage in AC using motors built by USA Suzuki especially when Suzuki owns part of AC. And I would still draw a correlation to Polaris/KTM and Bombardier/Rotax although ownership shares differ. These big combines should benefit us all by providing more competition to Honda and Yamaha and more money to pour into new product development.

Don't Suzuki, Kawi and A/C have some kind of affiliation?
Whats the deal with Suzuki cars? I read somewhere they were owned or partially owned by GM and some of their cars are built by Mitsubishi?

Any gear drive utility atv is the best, there are only 3 gear drive ATV's that I know of, The Yamaha Big Bear, the Suzuki Eiger Manual, and the Suzuki Vinson Manual. Sorry, but I don't mean to offend anybody but any belt drive ATV is a POS. I have seen the problems and the trouble the belt drives have and I would never wanta own one.

Thats a little extreme. I have had ZERO problems with belt driven ATVs. Besides a 60 dollar belt, (whoopie!!) what problems can a belt drive offer that a gear drive doesnt? When th gear drive has a problem, its alot more expensive than replacing a belt
