Default warn winch problem

You can't be serious.. Do you really think that there is a special 69.00 winch that is sold only with a new quad?and that is it just some POS they slap a Warn sticker on it
to make the buyer feel all warm n fuzzy. That is just a promo that any atv dealer uses, normaly to help sell off the left overs from the year before.
There is not any differance between them other than price.

Twisting words? You responded to someone looking to buy a NEW quad, you said not to because EVERYBODY hates them. If he is looking to buy a new quad, how could get a bad old reputation quad? I am just reminding you of your words, politicians have this same problem of forgetting what they said! Seems that Blastfeem already got you on the winch thing. You reallly are kidding, right? 2 different winches, you make me chuckle!

Warn makes Warn winches period. They sell them to dealers at a discount because they buy in bulk. It costs them more than $69 but they have a lot in markup on the machine to cover the rest.

yes, when an ATV Dealer runs a promotion as a free or $69 winch when you buy a new ATV, ur getting a cheap generic Warn knock-off with a Warn sticker on it and its only worth that $69.

What makes you think that is true, you hide in the back room and watch them pull the 69.00 winch out of the generic box? Or you have talked to the Warn winch CO. and they told you this, or I know its because you know everything!!! yep I bet thats it.. What a maroon!

I looked for the p/n of a cheap knock off winch. All I found was the Gorilla winch I wonder if you already knew this too, Mr. winch. A Warn 2,000 and Warn 2,500 motor/gearbox assy is exactly the same. Know what makes the difference? Of coarse, you do, you are MotoF150!

Sorry, but you guys were lied to and ripped off, I understand, there was a time I did believe everything the atv dealer told me, but now I know better, one local Yamaha Dealer wanted an extra $300 added to the cost for his mechanic to install the $69 Warn Winch telling me it takes one lead mechanic and his helper all day to install a winch and im too stupid to install it myself, I installed my Gorilla Winch myself in 2 hours. I don't want you guys mad at me, I was ripped off and lied to before and its a bad and embarressing feeling and I don't want you guys going thru that or making the same mistakes I made. At least you guys can agree with me that $69 extra you pay for that winch does not include installation. ok? Im on ur side, im ur friend. Dealers are Stealers!

How in the world do you come up with this stuff? Do you also believe in the "Great Pumpkin" on Halloween? Don't you think Warn would be pretty upset if someone was putting Warn stickers on another brand of winch? By the way, that is a Yamaha promotion, not a dealer's. Yes, dealers will do anything they can to get more money out of you and you have to do your homework to keep from getting shafted.

Before I purchaced my Suzuki Eiger I went to a Yamaha Dealer and wanted to buy a Big Bear, they had that promotion the Warn Winch for $69, I asked to see the Winch, it was gray in color, it had both Yamaha and Warn decals on it, it was a tiny little thing, it looked nothing like a Warn, it was made cheap with plastic nuts and bolts holding it together, it had a cheap sheet metal flat roller head, the cable was short and thin, then the Yamaha Dealer wanted an extra $300 to install that POS! I told him I will save the $300 and install it myself, I was prepared to buy the new Big Bear and the Winch, but the dealer insulted me telling me I was too stupid to install that winch myself, so I told him to eat s*it and stick the Big Bear up his you know what, and went to the Suzuki Dealer and purchaced the Eiger without a winch, then purchaced a new Gorilla Winch and installed it myself in 2 hours.

Either you found an extremely shady Yamaha Dealer or I call BS on this story.....I bought my Suzuki Vinson in Dec. of 2005 at a dealer here in NE Ohio who sells multiple makes (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha etc.) at the time they had the "Warn Winch for $69 deal" or you could take a $200 gift certificate for Home Depot or $200 in Makita Cordless Battery operated tools. I took the winch deal and I can assure you it was a genuine Warn 2.5ci (2500 pound) winch. I had looked to buy a Warn 2.5ci for the previous Quad I had, which oddly enough was a Yamaha Big Bear (400, Manual) like you were looking to buy....(Loved it, but love my Vinson even more) I had checked the winch out pretty closely at an ATV parts and repair place (NOT a Dealership) .It was the EXACT same winch, one was no different than the other.......Anyways, I asked about the cost of having them install it and the service manager at the dealership told me it would be about $175 to install it, (I think, can't remember exactly, but it was nowhere near $300) he then told me that if I had any mechanical or electrical experience at all that I could easily install it myself with the included instructions in about 2 hours or so......He was right on the money, It was fairly easy to install following the instructions and it took about 2 hours give or take 15 minutes or so.
