Default Adjusting Dial-A-Jet

What is the easiest way? Example: Do i leave the filter, and cover off and turn the dial until it runs perfect?

Second: I see no gas going through the dial a jet lines from the carb. Is this normal?

The only time the Dial a Jet will flow gas is under load, when the pulses from a lean condition in the engine pulls extra gas from the Dial a Jet to fill the "gaps" in the fuel droplets from the carb. It won't flow at idle, or even if you rev it in neutral, it has to be under load. Do you have the instructions? they should explain it all, you usually start about 2 - 3 sizes lean on the jets, set it in the middle, then turn it up a click at a time until it runs good ( on a test drive, not just idling) and your plugs look normal.

You should start 2-3 sizes smaller on the main jet from stock ones, but with your mods, you probably said bye bye to stock a while ago, I would go down from whatever you were running before you installed the Dial a Jet, at least 2 sizes down on the main jet, maybe 3 if you can't seem to get any adjustment out of the Dial a Jet.That will set it up to run very lean under load, creating the vacuum "pulses" that will draw fuel into the carbs. You should be able to see gas in the line, but unless you hang your head down by the carbs while you drive ( not recommended) you will not see gas flow into the carbs, it has to be under a load, like driving, or on a dyno, something that makes the engine work, you can rev it to the moon in neutral, and it won't flow anything.
