Default changing to synthetic rope?

When using a winch it would be a good idea to wear your PPE's. Such as heavy leather gloves, safety glasses, etc., just in case the cable does break and snap back. If you have your helmet and faceshield on or goggles it would offer some means of protection.

Default changing to synthetic rope?

I bought the synthetic rope for my warn 2500 in September and have used it a number of times.
I took my 07 Griz on a snow covered lake and got stuck in about 20 inches of snow with a crust
on the surface. I used my ice auger to cut a hole, and placed a board down the hole for my winch
to hook to. The synthetic rope is sweet, very light and easy to use. I got mine for okoffroad.com
which gave a good deal. Make sure you change the fairlead to an aluminum one or one they
recommend for syn rope. The wire is 4800 lbs test, and syn is 5400 test and same size.
I have since purchase a cheap winch from Sams club and put it on my trailer to winch my ice
shack. It is a 2000 lbs winch and once I pulled the wire rope out, it did the tangles etc, I swore
I will be getting another synthetic rope for it. Its an amazing difference. Those who haven't
tried it will buy after they see how good it works. You can buy it in camo also.
